Just had an "But doctor... I am Pagliacci" moment with Google's search AI.

an exchange with google search chat AI in which I dismiss its approach and suggest I should maybe just code the solution to this problem in C, and it confirms the plausibility of that approach and suggests I use stb libraries to help. (I checked and it did not seem to know who I was.)

Academia.edu once gave a paper of mine an "AI review". I got stuck in a recursive loop chasing down its first suggestion.

It also suggested that this paper, published in 2011, could have been improved by comparing to work that didn't exist at that time.
