Incredible. The National Police Chiefs' Council have put out a press release today, to complain about two newspaper columns by Peter Hitchens about the Letby case: news.npcc.police.uk/editorial/si...

The press briefing ahead of Lucy Letby's trial isn't even the craziest part for me. What I find truly shocking is that Cheshire police were put in charge of press comms for the court during Letby's retrial.

That's to say nothing of the court reporters all agreeing in advance not to contact any of the families in the case without first getting permission to do so from Cheshire police: sure.sunderland.ac.uk/id/eprint/17...

What I find truly shocking is the pain and torture that Lucy Letby inflicted on neonates in her care. Mother E was also shocked at the screaming provoked by Lucy Letby ramming a rigid implement into her baby's throat. Explain why you have chosen to defend Letby's outrageous behaviour.
