Starmer must have strong indications that further integration is on the cards to make this announcement. Note, no mention of the customs union or single market, so not against the manifesto.

So, I was wrong about the Single Market, although I note he "in relation to" - I doubt it would be possible to rejoin before the next election so maybe it is possible carry out preparatory work short of rejoining, this not break manifesto commitments bsky.app/profile/best...

I love an optimist! I really hope you are right. We need to bear in mind with "friendly" leaders much of the conversation is not made public.
