Buzzing means Wasps. Sure, sometimes it doesn't - sometimes it means an unstable electric connection still semi-powered. Sometimes it means cicadas, or the barometric pressure change of radstorms. But sometimes it means humanlike, carnivorous insects that prey on anything with a heartbeat.

You thought you were in the clear. You thought you had gotten into the loading bay undetected. You thought that once you had the pack of vials in your bag, you could turn around and run straight back out the way you came. But that hope was immediately crushed by the biggest Wasp you'd ever seen.

Where most Wasps are slight, dangerously thin little things, this one looks like she could throw a car at you and call it light exercise. So what else can you do? You run. Neither you or your girlfriend are fighters, you're local looters, scavs, all you're good for is running and hiding.
