But the problem is that a lot of dommes don't really feel like they can pick the first option? I've talked to a few, including my Master, about just general domme energy levels and what they do when they're at that point where they're kinda just low energy and what they'd need to do to recover.

And a lot of times the answer is actually "I don't do anything about it, I just power through for the sub and then recharge on my own time later" And like, I get it, I understand why that's generally the one that people tend to land on. But also isn't it kind of sad? Just a little?

Of the dynamics I've talked to who say that they lean towards the first, when they'll actively call for low energy breaks or just intentional lulls in the activity levels, those dynamics tend to be very very high veterancy in the kink community. People who have had a lot of practice.

That is where chemistry and similar expectations in dynamics come to play a role, to me Any submissive that cannot accept that I am not absolutely constantly dominant is a hard pass, and I favor the low-maintenance, creative types I can send spinning with just a little push, when my fatigue needs it
