This is a rant geared more towards newbies, but I'm hoping that there's something everyone can take away from this. My philosophy rants are really just meant to prompt thoughts - take them or leave them! Not everyone actually knows what kayfabe is or how it works. So, let's break it down.

For my purposes I'm talking about the kayfabe in the mechsplo corner of the internet, but you can find it pretty much anywhere you go. What it is is basically stageplay. Kinky roleplaying done in public as a form of shared storytelling and personabuilding. It's a kinky creative exercise.

I've heard it explained before as very similar to wrestling, and that's honestly the closest thing that I've seen to it. Wrestling! Bigger than life characters who duke it out in public for amusement and entertainment. These characters have overarching stories, arcs, background, etc. It's fun!
