The drive to make disability technologies smaller, less visible, & easier to hide is as much (or sometimes more) related to able-bodied ppl’s discomfort/fear as it is to making it more helpful for disabled users. Making prostheses mimic lost limbs visually, even when it hindered function, is one ex.
