Would these same people think that Canada was going in the right direction if it was Poilievre enacting the exact same right wing policies as Carney? Somehow I doubt it. I honestly thought more Canadians were smarter than this. I had no idea this country had so many sheep.

And I can't even be relieved by the 39% who say we're going in the wrong direction, because a big chunk of them are conservatives who are only saying that because it's a Liberal government. If it were Conservatives doing the exact same things, they'd be saying we're going in the right direction.

I'm not sure we appreciate the scale of the propaganda campaign the Carney government is waging and its impact on public opinion. $115 million allocated in Q1 alone of this year for government advertising, including $76 million (!) for an 'Emerging Needs Fund' (which sure sounds slushy to me).

It's too broad a question and people are interpreting it using their own fave criteria

I feel like Canada has gone down the same identity politics road as the US. No critical thinking its either you are "Liberal" or "Conservative" or whatever and you just don't question what your side is doing. You can vote one way and still question and disagree with what they try to legislate.

Agreed. We seem as a nation to be peachy-keen with right-wing policy if a "liberal" does it. It's an excuse.

It's a vague enough question that you can cherry-pick your priorities or just ride generic flaghugger vibes

I had big hopes Carney would be the right guy but I guess not. Now I seriously don’t know, who/what is our alternative?

Canadians should look at a poll in Alberta CARNEY HAS HIGHER APPROVAL RATING THAN DANIELLE SMITH BY A LOT IN ALBERTA. Alberta is a far right province Sept 2026: 52% were favourably impressed by Carney 30% were favourably impressed by Smith ANYONE STILL THINK CARNEY IS A LIBERAL?
