Of the ~20,000 people the NPS employs (perm, temp, & seasonal), 1,000 were fired on Valentine’s Day. 6-8K seasonal jobs were cut. Custodial staff, biologists, firefighters, and EMTs. Interpretive rangers, wildlife management rangers, plumbers. Fired, offers rescinded, job postings deleted. #resist

Inadequate staff means trash piles and clogged toilets. Overflowing trash means bears, habituated to human food, presenting a risk to the public and themselves. Overflowing toilets means poop – poop everywhere. Are the minimum wages of custodial staff worth shit all over the #MistTrail in #Yosemite?
