Here in my city, we have a huge cost of living problem, homelessness is rampant, and we've had to fight for continuing to fund our local transit service. Yet the city wants to tout our bike lanes as progressive. When people are suffering and you care more about the bike lane, THAT IS A STATUS SYMBOL
