While I was talking to Kayla Pekkala of the "small-batch" Chicago-based stationery company Tiny Werewolves — "retro-inspired art infused with socio-political commentary" — she noted even the Bic pen I was holding was stationery.

For context, I think the full question was something like “what makes something stationery?” And my full answer was along the lines of: You can have ✨all the things✨ like journals, a lot of the people here will everything in its place, fancy pens/washi etc. But even your Bic pen is still stationery.
