Paul Brown @pbkc.bsky.social · 30/10/2024I hope not. I'd like to think it is because people at all levels of the economic spectrum buy fuel and Reeves didn't want to be seen as reneging on manifesto promises not to tax working people. If that is not the explanation, I agree this is bonkers. 110 0
Anna Clarke @annaclarke.bsky.social · 30/10/2024This chart is a little out of date - but essentially the black line continued along flat, and every year the Chancellor said he'd put it up next year - factoring that into spending plans - but then chickened out. Reeves has continued on just the same vein. 121 0
