LLMs are morally indefensible. They only "create" anything due to the work of communities like this in their training database. When they're used to recreate those same works by uncurious men who don't value their creations beyond money and "first thing" prestige, it's wholesale theft and erasure.
@sharkabytes.bsky.socialAnd because they don't rub shoulders with those creators and see the value placed on their work, they feel it's okay to just spend coin on tokens to generate x,y,z rather than reaching out. A lot of artists will even do it for free or cheaply just so non-Gen AI artwork is used.
