It's giving undergrad compsci course proof-of-concept project garbage mama, and at this point the only perks it has are "not an ad platform" and "not the other guys". It's 2026. I'm certainly not going back to any social platforms I've left, and I'm definitely not joining a new one at this point.

Impossible to do a "hey I'm in [CITY] who wants to meet up?" message to just friends with a guarantee they'll be shown it on basically any platform aside from TUMBLR of all places (the place exactly three of my friends are) and at this point I'm tempted to go back to a rolodex.
