am not seeing I need to feel any sympathy for anyone involved in this sorry episode, tbh. I remain mildly astonished he got the investment he did from investors, but it is indicative that there has been a localised speculative frenzy in this particular corner of the market.

For sure there’s been speculative frenzy but that’s a different conversation. Prediction markets, crypto, betting, not to mention corruption and grift at the highest levels of govt. But don’t really get the handwringing about SA and sort of see it as a unique situation

we agree, I don't get the handwringing either. I am amused though, it's a great example of how not to run money from my perspective 🤷‍♂️
