I don’t think the point was to ever run this in a risk-managed way, as a typical hedge fund. The LPs were other VCs, Silicon Valley insiders, Jane St. Again, not the typical institutional investors.
And even after the partial liquidation of the portfolio, the fund is still up since inception.
