I have to say one of the better ways to upgrade your audio setup is to buy a subwoofer. I bought a used Genelec 5040A to pair with my old 6010As (tiny monitors) and it brought the whole system alive.
It's adding depth even to music that's not so bass heavy. It's difficult to go wrong with Genelec.
