The government spent €100,000 of public money on a KPMG report on data centres and then deleted anything negative from it! We are just paying for their propaganda to pretend that data centres aren't driving up our electricity prices and cutting across housing and transport!

Man it would be a real shame if the cooling on these places happen to short out long enough for them to catch fire. Would be so horrible

Scotland now has a glut of planning applications for hyperscale data centres. My group is arranging an information session about a local proposal. I would like to make links with people/local communities impacted by data centres. Thanks

The question has to be asked: why? Why are the government so bullish for something so unpopular with the public, provides very little in the way of employment after the initial build stage, is a massive resource drain & infratructure headache. What could possibly drive this level of support?
