Dini @mobuos.dev · 23/04/2025I like A → C → B Ideally you would apply some rotation similar to how Aseprite's algorithm does it, or get some extra smoke sprites and get some more variations with horizontal/vertical mirroring. Could also try to generate it procedurally if it fits the style! 110
Nat Delnova @natdelnova.itch.io · 24/04/2025Thanks @mobuos.dev! yeah we've been playing with random sprites but it's actually more performance heavy in particle emitters than you'd first think 🤔 Personally I'm not a fan when the resolution is completely out of sync like in A. But I do like C 😁 110
xeneth.design @xeneth.design · 24/04/2025Most of my ideas for smoothing out some of the compromises also revolve around more than one sprite www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv58... Somewhat surprised that Unity doesn't make approaches like this performant? Do they not instance different "frozen" frames from the same sprite sheet efficiently?youtube.comMultiple Sprites With One Particle System (Unity Tutorial)YouTube video by SpeedTutor 010
