Let’s start the morning off right. Wax Mannequin I say this in the most affectionate way possible, Wax Mannequin is a real weirdo. I saw him in a tiny cafe in Antigonish, NS, less than five feet away from him as he played some of the most heartfelt bonkers songs imaginable. youtu.be/nuKY4STBApc

Another borderline outsider artist: BA Johnston Again, affectionately, such a weirdo. He seems like a fun but exhausting hang. So many of his song feel so low effort, but on the ones where he “tries” his purity and earnestness comes through in spades. youtu.be/vN7fP7Ad2jc

Hayden I didn’t understand him when my sister was listening to “everything I long for” back in the day. I do now. This song never fails to make me cry. It MIGHT not be my favourite Hayden song, but it is the platonic ideal. All desperate longing and jangling raw emotion. youtu.be/YQ9YbjwApZo
