Saying this with a heavy heart - I've been stressing over this for months so I'd really appreciate if you read all the way through ;-;

White text on a dark grey background. Important Update

This has been weighing on me for a long time, and isn't a decision made lightly. Please take the time to read everything before making a judgement. This is something many of us feel strongly about, but sometimes there aren't better options

As of today, I'll be on twitter again

Every day the bsky team makes it clearer that they aren't any better than twitter, and bsky has become a sinking ship

Starting over here was a huge loss for me to begin with. Every month since I've struggled with comms - to this day none of my comms have come from bsky. I've been scraping by with some AMAZING repeat clients, and the occasional client who finds me on VGen

But this isn't sustainable. Comms are my only source of income, and bc of disabilities I can't get another job. I've tried everything I can - new comm types, pairing up with artists, making shop items, and so much more. I'm trying other platforms as well, but just haven't found anything viable

If this were just about me, I would take the loss. But I have a child, and we don't have anywhere safe to go if we lose housing. I've been homeless before, and I won't do that to my child if there's ANYTHING I can do to prevent it

Even so, restarting on twitter is disheartening. It comes with complex feelings as a disabled, trans, queer Jew. I'll be on there exclusively for work, and would appreciate not being sent links to silly twitter memes or drama. Atp avoiding that is all I have left

If you feel the need to step away or unfollow due to this decision I understand. But I really hope, at the very least, you can understand where I'm coming from. That this isn't about clout or vanity, just that above all else I have to do anything in my power to provide safety and security for my child.

Ahhhh you're too kind, I really appreciate the support ;-; Please don't subject yourself to that hellhole on my behalf tho. The entire platform really is nightmare fuel 💀
