’This marks a decision to go backwards’: Robert Reich on One Big Beautiful Bill Act
Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act represents the largest upward transfer of wealth and includes the largest cuts to health care in American history. It will be a major step backwards for this country’s healthcare infrastructure that could lead to 12 million more Americans becoming uninsured, loss of services and a decline in quality of care. “It’s a regressive step,” former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich tells Ali Velshi. “Not only are we taking Medicaid from working class and poor people and un-insuring them, but we are using much of the savings to provide a very big tax cut to the richest people in this country.”
