Donald Trump’s expansionist vision since returning to office has been rebutted by leaders of Panama, Greenland and Canada. But if his vision of Canada as the 51st state were to become reality, there’s...

Pointless. There is, effectively, no longer such a thing as Congress.

As a dual citizen between Canada and the United States and currently Canada being my way out of this shithole autocracy I definitely vote to not make Canada a state LOL

Ten provinces, 2 territories: 24 senators

Yes, two senators for every province. Then let's see what happens. Same deal for Mexico and Greenland. The Great Expansion will have lots of unintended consequences.

Your point about Congressional expansion. I wasn't aware of that. 54 down to 52, because Cali would be told to give up 2 along with another blue state. What I really want to talk about is your final statement. Saying that it might not be the worst thing to happen?! Dude!!

They’d get 50 congress persons.

Why not just break Canada up into a bunch of North Dakota sized states? That would be about 188 Electoral College Votes and 126 Senate Seats.

Canada has 10 provinces. Why should Canadians agree a status less than 10 states and 20 Senators?

Why can’t he just leave Canada alone? I have visited there and the country and the people are lovely and most importantly, they don’t want to be part of the USA. He’s caused enough problems here. Other countries don’t want him exporting his destruction and chaos. Not to mention his stupidity!

This is ridiculous! Canada is not going to join the US. i would be happy to join them, however.

It's about time someone recognized this. Do I think Canada is going to be annexed into the United States? Of course not. But if it were, we're talking about at least a dozen or more new U.S. Senators. How many of them are really going to be Republicans?
