This is scary. We are seeing the same thing unfolding in our provincial conservative government in Alberta, Canada. Rewriting all kinds of things in the cover of darkness then downplaying any opposition. Taking away the rights of trans children and extending the next election date to name a couple.

I wish Barbra, Oprah.. and other sane intelligent powerful people with a wide platform were on TV everyday supporting democracy loudly. How much more could they do? There was so much money and power behind this. We ended up in an electoral system where the one with the biggest megaphone wins.
