Wouldn't this be a function of the type of conspiracy theory one's inclined to entertain? Not all conspiracy theories are created equal on the wacko scale. On one end you've got belief in "faked" moon landings to the other end that sometimes turn out to be true (e.g. CIA mind control/MK-Ultra).
