My dad was born in 1967, and watched 'Poltergeist' when it first came out in June 1982, not long after his 15th birthday. He told me that he still refuses to re-watch the movie, even in his 50s, due to having terrifying nightmares. [Similarly, Stephen King's 'IT' (1990) traumatized me.]
In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?
My mom let me watch this when I was 2, I never stood a chance at normal lol
