Every grand adventure begins with a spark, and for the Frederick Fantasy Festival, that spark ignited in the heart of Western Maryland. It began not with a grand decree, but with a simple longing: to bring the vibrant escapism of fantasy and adventure to life. This year we will be starting a one day market, with hopes of growing it into a Festival.

The vision was born from a shared love of fantastical realms – the epic tales of dragons and knights, the whimsical allure of fey folk, and the bustling merriment of historical marketplaces. Why should one travel far to find such magic? What if a realm of wonder could blossom right here, in Frederick, Maryland?
