tbh i think its that at least to me a lot of phrases of christian origin are so ubiquitous in us culture that their meaning doesnt really register anymore. "go to hell" is just kind of a generically mean phrase but "dont go to heaven" feels more specifically like "i wish you an unpleasant afterlife"
