What is a Golem (IV)

A gush of crimson spills
from the skull I smashed
at your command. I cup my hands,
fill them to the brim, so you can see
a universe swirling in an offering bowl.

But when I hold it up, it’s only so much rust,
soaked into already-red mud.

If you had given me a mouth, I would tell you:
even a walking grave remembers
what you hid in it.
