Indeed! Britain ‘s economy is held back by the Brexit barriers to our largest market (both for our exports and for our supply chains). Time for more ambition than Starmer ‘s slow and partial “re-set” with the EU! Give the country a genuine growth strategy…

Brexit, we can measure the damage, complain about the barriers and devise increasingly elaborate ways of working around them. What we apparently cannot do is ask whether the underlying policy still makes sense. It’s managing around a conclusion we’ve decided must remain permanent.

Aye. I'm tired of this pointless game the government plays now. I feel Labour acknowledge it to use as shield to deflect from poor choices & 'it's not oor fault' when they can do something aboot it & apply to rejoin, or at the very least try & join the SM/CU or EFTA.

Everyone understands that we have to get closer to Europe, for economic reasons, for influence reasons and security reasons. But let’s not muck around with stupid ‘halfway houses’ .. what UK needs is full membership as a leader of the continent, like France & Germany!

Look at Iceland which rejects full membership but makes it makes money out of EU like Swiss or Danes which have opt outs but don’t cut off trade, economic links

Should we force our way into the EU & demand they renew our membership? Its a 2-way process and we, the UK, have no right to make demands. Also, why would the EU trust us, when our elected PM has just been kicked out?
