Let’s not underestimate ease. MSM backed Trump because basically their programming will be written for them…timed for optimal effect. They assessed not only Trump but a gullible following, and said “that could be our target audience”. They sold a privileged audience to give away their agency.

Good piece except for the gratuitous both sides D bashing paragraph. Everything else is about how the R’s destroyed journalism in the US. Why drag the D party, largely out of context, for what the R’s have done? It’s far from a perfect party but they are not the villain here, relatively speaking.
