There are people at my work who think they've researched it and Ukraine was really corrupt. When I tell them that's Kremlin propaganda they say "what, you think I support Putin?" Some people, honestly.

The reasons are multiple: lack of knowledge, pseudo-neutrality to justify not helping Ukraine (often through victim-blaming), decades of anti-Western narratives from the USSR, and contemporary Russian propaganda.
