Linguists: Does anyone know someone who has worked on language ideology regarding Khoisan languages? Specifically, the way these "click languages" (and their speakers) have sometimes been cast as "ancient relics" of a common human evolutionary past?

Within my micro-field of numerals, see, e.g.: Barany, M. J., 'Savage numbers and the evolution of civilization in Victorian prehistory.'; Tuominen, A. J. 'Pygmies, Bushmen, and savage numbers–a case study in a sequence of bad citations'. Not specifically framed as language ideology, though.
