I was too sick to get this poster printed and posted in time but at least now I have it ready for next year! Wanted to show it off somewhere because I'm pretty proud of it. lol

School of the arts, media performance & Design of York U presents:
Games and Media
Course Code: FA/CMA 3840 Fall 2024
Instructor: Meagan Byrne
Text Body: This course challenges students to use interpretive methods and theoretical concepts developed by Umberto Eco, used in contemporary literary, film and art criticism in order to study and analyze video games as media.
This course introduces students to the historic and contemporary spectrum of critical media approaches to engaging with video games and interactive media. By studying both primary texts (the games) and their critical responses, students will develop their own critical thinking (and writing) about video games.

If I ever got the opportunity I would 100% pitch an Umberto Eco and Video Games course to the Philosophy Dept

Probably would have an easier time doing that if I published a book about it first.
