🇮🇪 LONG STORY SHORT ON IRELAND’S WORLD CUP PLAYOFFS: We will have home advantage for our semi-final as long as: • Bosnia don’t beat Austria on Tuesday • Wales don’t beat North Macedonia on Tuesday The seeding pots are based on FIFA’s world rankings and, as things currently stand, Ireland are pot 2.

🧵 The playoffs will be held at the end of March next year, with 16 teams participating. They’ll be drawn into four separate brackets, and the last team standing in each bracket gets a spot at the World Cup. Of those 16 teams, 12 are group runners up (🇮🇪) and 4 are there through the Nations League.

Both Czechia and Slovakia are currently in Pot 2. I know they went through that Velvet Divorce back in the 90s, but I always thought they were good together, so what's the scenario if they decide to "give it another go"?
