Michael Pearce @michaelpearce.bsky.social · 19/06/2026Are you sure about 'Beaulieu' in August 1612, thinking that there is 'Beaumanor' near Leicester 100
Taylor Aucoin @aucointaylor.bsky.social · 20/06/2026Hmmm. Thanks for the question! The Chamber accounts clearly state Beaulieu for August 1612. Took 4 days to construct the stands. It's the August 1613 football stands that don't have a location stated in the accounts. But Venetian correspondence suggests James was there in August. 110
Michael Pearce @michaelpearce.bsky.social · 20/06/2026Not a source I've read, but I see Susan Tompkins in the 'Beaulieu History Society Newsletter' (2008), p.6 does try to fit it all into 1613. beaulieuhistorysociety.org.uk/images/newsl...beaulieuhistorysociety.org.uk 110
