I love how St Francis of Assisi reminds us that there’s holiness in small comforts and quiet love, and animals teach us that. No wealth or power is as great as a gentle yet adamant life that refuses to harm others and lives simply so as to preserve a beautiful world for others.

The best of all saints! When my veterinarian did not know Leia's age or birthday, she assigned her St Francis' feast day of October 4.
