Generally, the people who make that argument are upset because the people receiving the benefits aren’t like them in some way. Also, it turns into “I had pay for daycare and nobody helped me” attitude. Instead of being happy that the younger generation will have it better, they’re bitter about it.

Hi from UK. Reagan was a close ally of UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who proudly proclaimed'There is no such thing as society.' That led to years of selfish individualism, selling off Government assets to private equity and detroyed a real sense of mutual compassion in UK. A lot to answer for

My personal opinion is people should be paid enough to not need free childcare for their kids, but helping the people who need help is definitely better use of tax money than giving it to the wealthy.
