Perfect example: this lady who is afraid to mention a single one of her pen names, because she needs to trick people into buying her slop. Her *actual* pitch in the article — what she's willing to put her real name on — is "you too can get rich quick selling slop, ask me how."

The reason she is pitching the slop tool training rather than simply using her foolproof technique to get rich herself, is that none of the slop books she's actually selling makes more than a few pennies. It's a pyramid scheme with extra steps.

A little update to this. A source emailed me to say they'd used an industry tool to look up Coral Hart's sales and they totaled only 37 copies for the books under that pen name. So, yeah I do not believe the six figures on 50k sales the NYT reported.
