I've literally had AI boosters tell me "AI is not biased, you're just bad at prompting" because they don't actually understand how bias works or how an LLM is productized outside of a chatbot. The scariest thing about this tech isn't when you talk to it. It's when you don't see it at all.

Because this is bsky I must add that yes the chatbot is also bad, as we've seen from people using it for fake therapy or amplifying their delusions. The chatbot is bad like cigarettes or having a gun in your house, where the victim is likeliest to be you. But when embedded in systems, it's worse.

Your mortgage application goes into a black box and comes out "denied." You search for a how-to website and the first result looks OK, but it's actually AI slop. Your boss says, we're laying off half the company because AI told me that AI can replace half of you. Everything with DOGE.
