Real analysts (rather than hagiographers and stenographers) might be interested in looking at what AI execs promised their *products* would be able to do in 2025, and checking that against what was actually accomplished. I emphasize products because a model doesn't do anything alone.

We are always hearing about how such and such year's model is twice as big or performs better on this test than last year's. You can't really throw that at a customer and rake in Business Value though. You need a productized use case - a valuable thing that it can do for someone.

So rather than talking about "how powerful" a model is in the abstract, look at how it's able to solve the real world problems it's applied to at scale by businesses - not skeptics but customers who invested millions and are highly incentivized to get it to deliver returns.
