This dynamic is made worse by the curse of toxic generalism applying to AI itself. Because being an expert isn't the only defense against this kind of grift. Someone with no knowledge at all has the benefit of a healthy skepticism, and will be thinking about goals rather than methods.

For example if you tell a junior developer that you're about to go do design thinking, they will happily go along, because they've vaguely heard about this and it seems like it worked for other people? A skeptic will ask, why? And a grifter won't be able to explain. They don't have the depth.

But nearly every exec has AI-pilled *themselves* already, and think they're AI pros. There's no need to have a complete theory of how AI will actually help people become more productive. Just like e.g. Scrum, it's taken at face value that we must simply do it because it is the done thing.
