Good afternoon,
My name is [???] and I am a resident of [CITY, STATE] at zip code [12345], and I am highly concerned by our President's escalatory rhetoric surrounding the hostilities between Iran and Israel. Senator Tim Kaine has just filed the War Powers Resolution to Prevent War with Iran, and I want to hear that as my [Senator/Representative], you support this resolution, which underscores that Congress (NOT the President) has the sole power to declare war, as laid out in the Constitution—a document which you swore an oath to uphold. The resolution requires that any hostilities with Iran must be explicitly authorized by a Congressional declaration of war or specific authorization for use of military force, and would not prevent the United States from defending itself from imminent attack. You need to stand up to our President and his reckless warmongering. Will you be supporting this resolution?
If a voicemail: I would like a call back at 123-456-7890 to be informed of your stance on this issue.
