unironically agree. pushing the boundaries of what you're asked to do in a shooter is what was fun about levels back then. you never knew what was going to happen
level designers having silly ideas and being proud of what wacky stuff their engine can pull off is so rare nowadays
Devs today aren't brave enough to design enemy encounters like this anymore, they're too worried with stuff like "being fair" and "the player needs to know what the fuck is going on"
