Randy “Presumption of Liberty” Barnett is an exhibit, though, not the problem. That’s not a defense of him; it’s more a note that the legal academy, in the absence of true peer review for much of its output, has few bulwarks against its members making bad faith or morally reprehensible arguments.

The part I find notable is the mask off: it's not just that he's a gutter racist, but that he doesn't even think he should maintain an air of respectability by reserving those thoughts for the golf course. He posts them for the world to see.
