This is not just MAGA. Indeed a large portion of anti vaxx folks are far liberal leaning. Think those who might follow Gwyneth Paltrow. There are also a large contingent of religious zealots who are anti vaccination. To blame this on MAGA is misguided and failes to include much older groups

Once upon a time, this idea was correct. There was approximately equal portions of antivaxxers on both sides of the political spectrum. That was true 20 years ago. Since then, the right has fully embraced anti-intellectualism, including opposing vaccines. 1/5

This was particularly because of Trump and Co's actions and propaganda during the Covid outbreak 6 years ago. While antivaxxers have always existed, they did not have a platform in national politics (certainly not US national politics) until Donald Trump rose to power. Trump platformed them. 2/5

It still is. That statment was no Oregon County met the requirements. Oregon has 36 counties. Most in the valley are heavily liberal. And long before MAGA was a thing, those counties had unimpressive vaccination records. Their numbers, worse. If anything, MAGA are just the newest group to join.
