I had not realized how high the rejection rate was for the draft-aged people for military service in WW II. Was military preparedness also a reason why some European countries nationalized healthcare? 2101

GUWonder @guwonder.bsky.social · 01/08/2026The Brits had a precursor via some kind of pre-WW1 national insurance for laborers to have health coverage and unemployment insurance. That was some decades after the Germans had already instituted some kind of health, accident/disability and old age insurance in the 1880s. 100
