"The last few years I was not in a healthy work environment, taking an immense mental toll on me but money was hard to turn away and it was my dream industry. It got to the point I was going to therapy BECAUSE of my job and I needed a way to cope. Then suddenly laid off earlier this year.

"I felt more mentally broken down than when I worked animal control, which is saying a lot considering I had to once collect a dog from a home after the owner had ---- themself. (The owner's family did end up adopting the dog)"

"Through all of this there was a feeling of emotional neglect with my partner. I didn't feel like our relationship was ever being invested in, dates and outings often fell on me to suggest. It felt like I had to beg in order to be thought of, considered, while at the same time sex was treated like a pre-req in order for them to care. So I stopped having sex.

We tried to "fix" things with couples therapy. Despite our wonderful therapist it wasn't enough. My partner started to push boundaries, flirting with others, asking if they could kiss friends, telling me who they thought had a crush on them."

I didn't shut it down because I trusted them, and they were trying to figure out who they were as they transitioned. I had already long began to emotionally disconnect at that point.

"I was feeling entirely seperate from my body, gender, sexuality. Like a void. I felt like I would never be good enough when I became so
sex repulsed when it came to myself.

And then I got cheated on. In front of me. By my partner and a friend I trusted."

"I've got a lot of trauma to sort through in therapy, but despite it all I am hopeful for the future. I'm finding who I really am, and will claw my way back to confidence and my sense of self.

I deserve to feel safe and secure with who I surround myself with, and that I don't need to sacrifice my boundaries to be loved."

I can only imagine the amount of strength it took to make and post this. To persevere through so much pain and suffering. Your art is something I've always loved. There was always a light to it. I can only hope that the world returns that light to you, and that your life improves moving forward.
