I could support switching government subsidies for research & development from nuclear to geothermal energy for sure, but I highly doubt we'll ever be able to bring the cost for EGS electricity below $100/MWhr despite the rosy predictions though, hopefully I'm proven wrong on that.

My understanding was that the technology behind (some) enhanced geothermal was related to fracking. Is that true, and if so does that leave the US particularly well positioned to push this forward?
