Under the most popular proposal, justices would serve for 18 years before transitioning to senior status. Importantly, this means each president would get two -- and only two -- SCOTUS noms. 527039
Deborah Cohen @debcohen21.bsky.social · 03/10/2026If the rate of tech change is going to continue as now here in the US, 18 years is too long for SCOTUS terms. 18 years is pretty much 1 human generation, but it’s about 9 tech generations. Either we shorten the SCOTUS terms to 10 years or we slow down tech. I’m for slowing tech personally 000
